RE: Fruit Flies Media
Hi Kean,
To make a dirt cheap media take instant mashed potatoes add a drop or two of
acriflavine and add enough water to moisten the mix. - Done deal. If all
else fails you could always try a piece of fruit.
Best regards,
-RJ-

Subject: Fruit Flies Media
Hi everyone! I'm a beginner to killifish and new to this group. I have
question regarding the fruit flies media. I bought a fruit flies starter
culture last week. After did some searches on internet, it seems like the
commercial media is the way to go although it's kind of expensive. I've
checked out several companies that sell fruit flies media, the cheapest one,
I think is the Jazz Mix by Applied Scientific.
http://www.appliedsci.com/FlyWeb/FWJazz.html
AS-151 5 lb. Box $32.00 $27.00
AS-153 10 lb. Box 55.00 50.00
AS-155 25 lb. Box 120.00 110.00
AS-157 40 lb. Box 175.00 160.00
Have anyone bought and used this media before? If you did, can you please
share your experience with me? If not, may be someone can tell me where to
get the media at cheaper price.
BTW, you can find lots of useful info regarding fruitflies on this url:

Thanks,
Kean Huat
