I don't think that dues should be reduced. I am more then happy (and
patiently waiting) to receive my BNL electronically. I however want to
still receive JAKA in the paper format. The savings could also help
offset any future cost increases.

I agree. Its kind of funny, but all of this talk of what to do with the
potential extra money reminds me of the presidential race and the debate
over budget surplus.

The supporting of conservation projects and collecting trips sounds like
a fine way to spend the money. I would also like to see an online F&E
that could generate a small revenue for the club like a local auction. A
certain percentage could go to the club to be used to support killifish
related studies. Maybe the AKA could even fund some fish & wildlife or
zoology departments at some universities. We could fund them to do
conservation and research on specific killies. They might be better set
up to run controlled experiments on specific killies that need the help.
They could do experiments to determine the affect of temperature on
growth, breeding, gender ratios, egg production, water parameters, and
much more. Scientific articles could be written and be property of the
AKA. These could be compiled and distributed annually (electronically or
paper) to the membership.

The whole goal for me I guess is not to save a few cents here and there,
but to advance the status of the killifish and the AKA.
