Re: Aphyosemion arnoldi
Well ... I was one of those that got a pair of arnoldi ...
I sort of feel a little funny about these comments. I have been
breeding killies since the very early 1070s - certainly read Scheel and
many other things over the years - but you make it sound like Gary and I
and the others who received the arnoldi are rank beginners who don't
anything about breeding killies. Geee Whiz ... Golly ... Of course we
don't have all the literature at our hands, but - truth be told - most of
that information that you refer too - is as old or older than we are <Laughs>
The IMPORTER does not starve the fish - the EXPORTER does. We are
talking about underdeveloped nations in central Africa that - in some cases
- just began exporting fish again in the last few years after a civil
war. Oliver Lucanus is a fine importer and in fact has made his name
importing the stuff no one else will - often very rare or brand new
species. (Gary - slap me - I can't believe I am being nice to Oliver -
LOL errrr inside joke ... ) The problem lies with EXPORTERS who do not
have the time or make an effort to do anything more than catch and ship the
fish - thats simply the way it works in places like Nigeria, Congo and such.
