All of that material was continued in the combination
Journal which was done for economic reasons and to insure the FEL would go
out first class many years ago.

George Maiers Column, Round Robin by J Glascock (sp?) .
Letters with responses to members by different people .. i.e. Harry Specht,
George Maier were in every Journal when the material was available.

My guess is there is no one stepping up to the plate and
offering Brent the idea of writing a monthly column for beginners.... No
one is writing "Round Robin Reports" etc. The translations require
someone to do them.. I was fortunate in that there were volunteers who
would translate material for me and it would appear in JAKA/KN, I am sure
Brent has people to help ... Maybe someone who reads the specific language
and receives a foreign journal should translate a particularly interesting
article and send it to Brent in electronic format. I am sure he would love
to receive the material...... I know I did when I was editor.

The reason that the indexes died, my guess is that the
volunteer effort slowed down or stopped. If the AKA sees fit to do
Indexes again, I suggest you read Lee's editorial .... It take many
volunteers, Volunteers to submit good photos of specific fishes that
someone will take the time to write about in Index format. Find, 12 photos
of publication quality, a group of members willing to write, and coordinate
it through the BOT for financial backing and reproduction and you have an
Index.............

The Indexes may appear again in the future, but for now, I
am trying to get every old index to reproduce. Index I in black and
white was the hardest, I think I have a set coming to me for
digitizing, so things are moving along
