That's where you are wrong! I have seen what some of the original 
submissions to the F&EL look like, and believe me, the printed 
versions have been edited. There are still problems, because no one 
person can be an expert on all of the 800 or so species names and the 
thousands of location names. Furthermore, it takes a lot of time so 
some slip through. Even if you could implement some kind of online 
correction scheme, some wrongly listed names would show up before 
they were corrected, or because nobody recognized the error. Those 
wrong names would be propagated in the hobby, amplifying an already 
significant problem.

My personal belief is that the AKA will eventually move to an online 
version of the F&EL. I personally doubt that it will be listed 
hourly, daily, or even weekly, but the turn around time will be less. 
Its implementation, though, will have to wait until we can do it 
properly and until the majority of the membership supports it.
