Spawning Mops

I have been trying to find nylon yarn to make up some new  spawning mops
but have discovered it is not too common anymore. Does anyone out there
have a suggestion for a suitable substitute? I see a lot of acrylic and
some polyester yarns. Would appreciate any input.
