Re: Re: KCC

Not upset at all! This was exactly what I was looking
for! As far as I know I did not see the roster. And
admittedly, I had no idea that was how to go about
this. My only gripe with the AKA outside this list is
that being away from affiliates I don't have another
means of learning such things. I was not upset but do
realize the post sounded cross. I think it illustrates
my point further, I had no way to learn this. I
learned it and Doug has kindly contacted me. I am
going to acquire some fish from him and set them up in
the next week or so. Actually Doug is one of the
closest members to me, geogeaphically speaking, that I
know of. Maybe Cincy is closer but I cant remember the
last time I was up that way. I am hoping to get to
Indy in the next couple of weeks with a friend who is
going there for purposes of getting orchids. He went
with me to an ExK meeting once so maybe if Al is
willing I can convince him to drop by Al's fishroom
for a visit if we make it up there. He is even more
isolated than I but he raised a few striatum that he
got from that meeting(I am trying to convince him to
raise some killies). I lost the fish I got at that
meeting because I got sent out on the road for a
couple months. No more road work so hopefully that is
no longer a problem. Thanks to everyone for the help!!

Scott ...

I am not trying to flame you at all, but like
everything in life,
there
is a process. Volunteering on the Killie Talk list is
not part of the
process <chuckles> although one of the chairmen of the

KCC """" MIGHT """ notice your comment.

What you should do if you wish to participate is
contact the KCC
Committee Chairman and see what is available. Now -
he should be
listed in
your AKA Roster. but for some reason the 2000 Roster
did not list
several
committees and their heads. The last I heard, Art
Leutermann (Texas)
oversees that committee. From there he should be able
to redirect you
to a
specific group chairman who is seeking help. Now I do
know for a fact,
Art
does not have free access to email - I won't explain
why. Therefore
you
need to call him on the phone or send him a land mail
note.

Now before you get upset - please realize the
Killie Talk list is
**
NOT ** the official communications arm of the
American Killifish
Association and volunteering on here may lead you to
some answers and
it
can be a very useful tool. In today's information age
- it seems
immediate
satisfaction is almost demanded by so many people,
that we have
forgotten
its not always the best answer. But no matter how
we look at it -
you
need to contact the right people - not post a message
one day, then
come
across upset the next.

Hate to seem to flame - but I see comments of this
nature so often,
sometimes I wonder if people realize that Killie Talk
is not the AKA.
It
is simply an email list used by many in and out of the
organization and
sponsored by the AKA.

    Tom Grady
     Chairman, Species Maintenance Committee
