Re: Communications (was Re: Species Maintenance)

I may or not be a respresentative member because I mostly keep, love, and
get a kick out of the lowly australes and gardneri. I sent in a F&E listing
today for some of those that I am almost positive I will still have 1 or 2
months for now. But I have 2 extra pairs of A striatum Cape Esteria. No way
I could put them on the list, so onto Aquabid they go. I need the space and
it has a quick turnaround. I have an absolutely gorgeous long finnage Jos
Plateau male. But he is old so to take up space in the F&E listing looking
for a female may be a waste of space. By the time someone got back to me the
old guy could be dead. If I salvage this fish with a mate it has to be
quickly. At least then he could die smiling :) And I can get some eggs to
keep them going.

Isn't there actually a need for two Fish and Egg listings? One is fish that
will most likely be available when the list comes out. It seems that for a
listing in the future to go out you have to have enough fish to be able to
fill several request, not just the first one.

And then a listing online that can be updated by the membership. Put a time
limit on the entry so it self deletes in 7 days or something? Then I could
put up I need a female Jos Plateau that is from a strain that looks like
(insert web picture). It stays up until I either delete it or 7 days pass.
If I still need the female, I put it up again. Granted the paper people
won't know anything about this, but they wouldn't know anyway since it would
never get into the F&E. I would have much preferred to put the 2 pairs of
the Striatum on this kind of arrangement intead of Aquabid. I would know
these fish would end up with AKA members, not a collector that may throw
them in with Cichlids or something. But to put the entry in with only 2
pairs is a disservice to the membership and the F&E listings.
I promised myself I wouldn't get into this again, but there it is.
