RE: Species Maintenance Report
Well, Dave you're right. It surely is their right. But let's see, they are a
member of
an organization dedicated to the survival of their killies, and I would
guess that
somewhere along the line they received their first pair of breeders from an
individual less selfish than themselves.
The gist of all of this is that Tom WILL NOT give out those all-important
names of
those hiding in the shadows.
What will transpire is a reasonable census of just what species are really
out there.
I would find that valuable, perhaps you don't feel the same.
Just for grins, when I entered this group 30 years ago,the mentors were even
more
forthcoming than today.

While I fully believe in letting others know anything of value that I know,
and what fish I have, there has to be room for people who believe
differently. But consider, if this so called 'secret super breeder person'
really was raising gobs of the last of the xxx species, then they must have
hundreds of tanks with just that one type of fish. Maybe I am wrong, but I
can't imagine they are doing that, or flushing the eggs and fry down the
toilet. They have to be distributing these fish somewhere, even if to others
who don't talk about it. There is a difference between sharing or selling
quietly and doing a master inhouse census. Some people just don't want to be
counted. While others may not agree with that, it is their right. After all,
it's their fish. Compared to what the sharing of info was like 20 or 30
years ago, we have come a long way.
