>>>As far as lampeyes go, many are schooling fish, some of which require
larger
aquariums. They do not fit into the neat little 2 1/2 gal killifish setups
many of us like to use easily, there are exceptions of course. <<<<

My Procatopus aberrans bred very regularly in a 20 long and they continue to
produce in their 75g "community tank". I use the old-timey "sliced cork"
method of egg retrieval, so I can keep them this way; displayed nicely in a
living room planted tank, and still regularly get eggs from them! Procatopus
spp. and their closer relatives (ie. Plataplochilus)do not get that large,
say compared to a Blue Gularis, but they are found primarily in stream
habitats and I find that a good current in the tank helps satisfy their
constant need for motion. Even the fry are constantly swimming fresh out of
the egg. So some extra room is good for these fishes not so much due to
size, but rather behavior.

Cheers,
