Re: mistery



        The new Hanna meters (aside- Made in Portugal of all places!) have a
safety feature that prevents battery run-down.  The switch must be held on
manually to operate.  If you take your finger off, it automatically slides
to the off position.  I was prepared to be very careful when I got one last
month after reading all the warnings like the one below, but was happy to
learn it isn't a worry now.
