RE: Lava Rock



Jake,
This stuff comes in any size you want, from gravel/dust to large landscape
boulders.  I would guess that for our purposes the material around 3/4" - 1"
in diameter would be about right since we would typically want to put it
into some sort of filter or filter compartment.  Having said that, it might
be interesting to just line the gutters with it in some of the fry rearing
flow through systems spoken about recently.  You may need to see what works
best for you setups.
