RE: cell pore

Is all Lava Rock the same? Up to this point my only exposure to it has been as
rocks in my Tang tank. I love it for that because of all the hiding holes etc.
Using it as a filtration media is very interesting and as pointed out probably
a good deal more cost effective then bio-max or bio stars or whatever new bio
stuff they are trying to sell us.

Is all Lava Rock just lava rock? Do I need to worry about pore size? For
years I have used the Ceramic bio max cylinders in my aqua clear filters. They
really allow me to max out my fish load. Maybe Lava Rock would be a good
replacement.
