RE: Chad-Cameroon Pipeline Project

Hi Drummond,

Before making such a request. You might want to address what the
petro-company will do if we find a very rare fish which can not be easily
transplanted.

Headline reads: "Pipeline to Eliminate Ecosystems and Drive Rare Fish
Species Into Extinction!"
(Insert a color photo of a beautiful killifish.)

Petro-company spin: "At least we let hobbyists take one last look before we
killed off all of the fish."

The preferred petro-headline:
"Pipeline to Benefit Local Economy and Consumers Worldwide." (No mention of
the ecology.)
(Insert photo of happy natives)

The only environmentalists that the oil company will want doing
Governmentally required surveys will be very myopic and on their payroll.

Best regards,

-RJ-

I can't disagree with this, but Cameroon is not New Jersey. I'm sure the
environmental protection laws are very different. It never hurts to try.
As far as the cost, it would be insignificant and they would likely spend
far more on advertising to tell the world how they went out of their way and
far beyond what was required, to preserve this little fish.

They may be very recptive to the idea. We need to make a well thought out
request. Maybe there are other organizations who could help with getting
this started.
