FYI, I am 2/3 of the way through reading the Hobbit to my children at bedtime.  Then I'll start with LOTR.  My goal is to be through them again before the movie so..

1) they'll be more familiar with the story before the movie.
2) I'll be ready to find every fault and error in the flick!  (VBG)
