Microsoft Outlook Files -- I. T. Expertise needed

To All of you I.T. Experts:

About a month ago my third Western Digital hard drive went crapped out. I
was able to back it up in fits and starts onto a directory on my new drive.
So far I have been able to recover just about everything except the messages
I had read and unread in MS Outlook. This included one from someone who was
selling his fish room stuff, some of which I was interested in.

Does anyone know how to recover the old messages or in what format or
directory (in NT4) M S Outlook stores them? Your help would be very much
appreciated.
