I've been
watching for them for sale ever since (and never seen them.) The owner
(Ican't remember who it was) said they were nearly impossible to breed, and
got very few eggs and fry.

I find them occaisionally in wild shipments from Kinshasa. A few years ago I
distributed many pairs/eggs from these wild fish in the UK, to be honest I
was a little over run with them. They may still be in the BKA somewhere.
I found them quite easy to breed in rainwater with a little salt. Eggs were
layed in top & bottom mops. Fry presented few problems to grow on but they
are slow growing.
