In NZ the quarantine has to be done once the fish are past the
border, doesn't matter where they came from before that. As I've
said before, I expect we'd have no problem sourcing killies (in
fact I bet if I asked on this list a box or two wouldn't be impossible to
generate ;-) it's just convincing one of the half dozen licenced
importers to tie up their tanks (one per species) for 6 weeks is
not that easy, when they can use the same amount of space
for several hundred neon tetras, for example.
Most of them just can't be bothered, and I can't say I blame them
despite the frustrations it causes my hobby.
