RE: One and one-half cents worth on Species Maintenance

reproduce in quantity varieties."
Thsi kind of Elitist attitude is why the memebership is made up of a bunch
of "old timers" and at the convention you see the same folks every year.
This type of attitude only pushes the new comers away. I would hope you
would want to attract new memebers not drive them off if they dont act in
the manner you feel is proper! Folks this is not Russia you dont have to
join some secret society to get fish for heavens sake.

"Because you post a request on KillieTalk you need to realize that its not a
chain letter such that your request gets passed on to one group than a
larger group and then a still larger group and suddenly you are showered
with offers. You have really invested very little effort and expect a big
response. "
I think your mistaken there Bud. This is a place to exchange ideas and pan
them out. kind of like brain storming. You being an "old timer" or a member
of the "hard core" group I would have expected you to offer some answers or
offer new ideas as to how we can solve this but rather you have taken the
stance and attitude of" who are these new guys" who do they think they are"
they think they can just come in here and change this" I am sadly
disappointed by your comments because they only go further to prove why
people are turned off by the AKA.

"Or are the
producers of those fish spending their time breeding fish and not ranting on
and on in KillieTalk?"
Just so you know I started with Killies back in May. I am now working with"
Diapteron cyanostictum
Diapteron abacinum
Diapteron georgia
A.ogoense phyrophore Peg 91/15
R.frenatus
and a few populations of Gardneri misaje, akure, and Nsukka
I am producing all the above fish, abeit slow on the Diapterons!, and I am
passing them along when possable. The problem is if you lose a male for
example of a A.jorgenscheeli, as I did, you cant get another fish. I have
tried!

""I laugh when I see someone from clear off the charts say they want to work
with Aph. jorgenscheeli in a species maintenance program. Just like Ter.
dolicopterus and Gnat. hoignei, these fish have proved difficult to
reproduce and maintain for over many, many years. "
Well David I will admit I am new to Killies. But I would ask you what did
you hope to achieve by stating this? promote the hobby? encourage the new
comers? make them better hobbyists? I could tell you I have been breeding
fish for over 18 years and with the exception of a few catfish I have
succeded in breeding virtually every fish I have set out to breed. But thats
neither here nor there. the issue is your lousy attitude. In the future you
being a "core member" I would hope you take a positive stance to promote
Killies and encourage the newcomers. Just so you know David I am not one to
whine about not getting the rare fish I can get just about any fish I want
in the world, such are my contacts. My point is for many new comers it is
difficult to get their hands on these fish. The issue of S&M and others are
seperate from this. I think S&M could help aleviate this some. And many on
the list have offered positive ways to accomplish this.
