Ouch! Brine Shrimp Eggs

This is a copy of the latest press release from Brine Shrimp Direct on the
year 2000 harvest - from what I can tell there is no movement down in the
prices from BSD.

"New Harvest – Egg harvested from the Great Salt Lake during the
fall/winter season of 2000 is now available. It was hoped that this season’
s harvest would relieve the current shortage of premium grade (+90%) egg in
today’s market. The industry was hoping for sizeable harvests and quality
comparable to the egg harvested in 1996 – our last good year. Having
processed and tested a representative sampling of the new harvest, we’re
finding that the majority of the egg will probably be classified in the 70+
to 80+ percent hatch-out ranges, leaving demand (and prices) for premium
grades higher than normal given the size of this year’s harvest. Currently,
Brine Shrimp Direct is offering the new harvest as a “grade A” egg with a
hatch–out of 80%, backed by a money–back guarantee."
