This thread just keeps coming back ... good!
Here's what I'd propose:
Some members of this list have to know they have rare or
endangered-in-the-hobby species. We've always had a lot of volunteers to
try maintenance, but we've had a shortage of easy access to species to
try. We've got the necessary takers, but we need the necessary
suppliers. 
The core species project of the AKA seems to have gone by the wayside,
and Tom is readying a work which will help immensely. In the meantime,
we could use a mechanism to get uncommon fish to those who want to try
them.
It's easy for me to SAY this, since it's winter where I am and nothing
can happen before April, but if people want eggs from the fish I've been
maintaining (and if the fish are producing at the time) save my address
and let me know when the snow melts and shipping becomes possible.
I have a couple of Aphyosemions, and as of yesterday two lampeye
species. If all works out, I'll send eggs to whomever wants to seriously
attempt keeping the fish beyond a couple of generations. Eggs are always
hard to plan for when you have a small set-up, but I'll give it a go.
