Hi Dave,
I use shade cloth(might be called something different over there) cut a
couple of inches longer than the top of the tank. Then cut the corners until
they reach the tank have some wooden curtain rod or dowel. Roll the over
hang around the rod and nail it do this on all four pieces and you have a
tight fitting lid that is not to much hassle at feeding time.

I have only ever used this on my frog tanks and have not had an escape for a
while. When I put the UV light on top of their tanks I always sit it on
glass just in case. It melts easily.
