GAR 'Mamfense'
I have adopted a pair of GAR 'Mamfense' from a friend, to try and make them
productive. I have conditioned them with red worms and still they have
produced very few eggs and what eggs they did produce where mostly these
football shaped tiny excuses for eggs. There were however a few eggs that
look good though none have made it very long (infertile I guess.) They are
a fair sized pair, though poor in color and though they are fed a goodly
amount haven't seemed to become full in body, like my other killies. Could
the parents have internal parasites? I am using RO water and 2 mops in a
shoebox. Maybe they should have a bigger tank? Harder water? They seem
spooked all the time while the other ones seem eager to get to the food I
bring. They do eat, I've seen them gobble down some red worms. I am just
perplexed. I'm thinking of putting them in their own 10 gal. tank and
observing them to see if they are acting ok. What is the incubation time on
these fish's eggs?
If there is anything I missed, ask me and I will fill you in as far as
parameters. BTW I have no idea what the age of the pair is and they could
be too old. I will try and find out. Until then any help is very welcome,
and thanks again in advance!!!
