Re: HTML?

Hello All,
<Nomex clad- with anti-flame gel coating my entire surface!>

I too tend to be somewhat less concerned about the security issue
than many of the members (Former CIA?) on this list. Perhaps, since I am of
proud Irish descent, this is due, like Boat, to my enjoyment of a wee "drop
o' the Creature" of an evening. I see the concerns listed as gospel truths
without ever a reference to any sort of proof or evidence to support them.
I know very well that early versions of Outlook had serious security
problems. I do not know that the most recent update shares them. *Is* the
latest Outlook Express as swiss cheesey as the old versions? What is the
evidence? I happen to like pretty email with bold, italic, and colored text
in variable font sizes. I sometimes feel that we are all held hostage by
the suspicions of people clinging to these old, inflexible programs. Now
there are threats by some to leave the list if HTML is allowed. I feel that
is a real shame. I have had my systems distrupted by viruses several times-
though never through email. When my anti-virus software couldn't protect
me, I reformatted and reloaded. It was a pain in the ass, but not the end
of the world. And it certainly wasn't worth dropping something as wonderful
as Killietalk over. Viruses are part of computer use. If you all hunker
down in your bomb shelters, you allow the virus writers to win through
intimidation. I'd rather reformat and reload. I want the latest bells and
whistles, and I want them on Killietalk.
