RE: Killies in Charlotte
Hi Nonn,
I just wanted to add a note about shipping. Some years ago a local pet shop
ordered some fish from HI It was not too cold here and certainly not there.
But the shipment was routed through Alaska where it was held up due to bad
weather (even for Alaska). I was there when they came in and it was not
pretty! My friend followed a UPS shipment via computer tracking software.
The package traveled through at least five states which were not nearly
between here and there.
Even when shipping from one warm place to another at this time of year there
are some very real risks to the fish.
I am glad your fish got there safely.
Best regards,
-RJ-

David,
Not that I'm an expert but I think a day or 2 in the mail in the southern
weather should be ok for the fish. 2 weeks ago, I recieved 3 pair of
Cyprinodon dearborni that took 11 days from Alabama to NC and they were all
fine. I considered that very lucky. Yesterday, I recieved 2 pairs of
Notho. flammimantis "Kisaki TAN 95/5" from HI. They were in the box for 2
days and they were all fine. My point is, it is doable although it take a
little risk.
If the buyer willing to pay for the overnight shipping, the fish should be
fine. If not the priority mail in such close proximity shouldn't take
anything longer than 2 days, very likely overnight. If you bring the fish
to the workshop and sent it priority from Raleigh that will absolutely be
overnight. It takes at most 3 hours to drive from Raleigh to Charlotte,
anyway.
See you in Raleigh,

In Wilmington, NC where I still opening my windows to get some fresh air....
