You Asked:

Are they similarly sized?
No the Amieti are larger.

Is amieti as easy going as gardneri?
they love to jump and the eggs take a little longer to hatch when water
incubated. The Amieti also like red worms.

What sort of spawning does amieti go for?
Some use mops on the bottom and some use peat while others use fine sand or
glass beads. They are a bottom spawner and very seldom have I ever found
eggs in floating mop.
