Re: Arizona killies
Had to put the fish out of its misery last night. Slammed it on the ground.
Do you know of any less brutal method? It got tangled in the net, so I
don't know if I killed it on the first hit. Its eye seemed to move and look
at me. This kind of thing disturbs me for days. I don't think I'll keep
fish anymore.

Hi Roberta--
Happy New Year to you, too. It finally got warm enough today to collect
some snow melt off the roof so I can do some water changes.

Ouch. Glad you got the book on native fish. You might want to see if it
has a section on diseases/parasites, or ask someone in your fish club
about how to treat him. If you have the space, try to get him into an
isolation tank, first so he doesn't spread anything contagious to the
other fish, and also so the other fish won't pick at him.
I hope to ship you half a dozen or so young Fundulopanchax gardneri come
spring (don't know which strain yet--either N'Sukka or the aquarium
strain). I should be ahead on young fish by then if the young fish I
have keep throwing good eggs. I might also have some other goodies, not
to mention seeds, if you want them.
Talk to you later.
