I have listened to many reports of beneficial effects of adding Chlorox to 
hatching bbs. I then did some calculations and found that my tap water comes 
with about the same amount of chlorine as others were adding via a couple of 
drops of Chlorox (i.e., about 4 ppm Chlorine). It explains why I was having 
success without adding chlorine and others (with less chlorine in their tap 
water), saw an improvement when they added it. It seems to inhibit the 
bacteria, at least for a day or so.
