RE: velvet

Hi "Boat",

If you have velvet it can be treated with a few dosed of acrifalvine
(spelling). 3 drops per gallon. It will turn your water green. This color is
hard to get rid of. I do not use charcoal in my filters. But it might help
remove the green after the treatment. If you have small spots it could be
Ick. Use Aquarium salt at about 1 to 2 tsp per gallon and/or aquarisol at 2
drops per gallon daily. Note it kills snails in a big way. Lastly you could
try the scattergun approach and try more than one method at a time, one for
Ick, Like salt and the other for velvet like acriflavine.

Good luck,

-RJ-

I have need of OPINION!!! I have a trio of AUS gold form. They were a
generous gift from Mike Jacobs of Florida. I have been keeping them in
rainwater without salt. My fault for what is to come. I have noticed some
ick looking spots on the male and one of the females. I have added a tiny
bit of salt and one drop of SUPER VELVET PLUS from AQUATRONICS. What do you
all think of my treatment ? By the way they have a Henri Debrun wet dry
filter on their 2.5 gallon critter keeper, also. Temps are between 70 and
74 deg. F. Any advice , scolding or info are welcome. If you could please,
respond to my personal address as well as the list as I am inundated with
mail from that list and am 4 days behind in reading it.!!
