white worms

Hi all,
I promised to send someone in South Africa a starter white worm culture, but
its summer down here and they don't survive the heat, have mailed myself 2
packages one from Brisbane and one from Darwin and both have been a smelly
mess by the time I received them and I received both of these 3 days after I
handed them over to the road train drivers.

Any ideas how I could successfully send them besides waiting to Autumn. Do
they lay eggs if so could I just send some substrate through the post add
water and food instant worms, sounds to easy.
