Re: Mineral residue
Dilute muriatic (hydrochloric) acid from the swimming pool chemicals section
of your local home depot or other store. After using, rinse with dilute
bicarbonate of soda until no foaming appears. There is no toxic residue,
except for a little salt.

<<Subject: mineral residue removal
My problem is that the hood has glass panels under the strip lights
which set on top. The bottom of these panels are covered with a white
mineral residue which I can't touch with either a razor blade or vinegar. I
believe that some sort of acid is needed but have no idea what kind, or if
there is something better. I am sure that the light is greatly reduced by
the residue.
Does anybody have any suggestions?>>
