The roots of the gourmet lettuces do a good job of fry cover and food
sourse, I have a 2 foot tank half full of water with 2 fluro tubes and a
couple lettuces floating in their(migonette and red coral). Once the fry are
2 weeks old I dump them in this tank a little experiment I done, had the GAR
fry in this tank and another lot in a bare tank same food and water changes
the ones in the lettuce tank were upto adult size and colouration a week
before the ones in the bare tank.

Some lettuce trivia with a good hydro set up we can get lettuces from
seedling or clone to market size in 12-18 days weather permitting.
