RE: Cyprinodon veronicae

Hi Nonn

Have you found out what the austraile was eating before it got to you? About
3 months ago I got FIL from the Rep. of Benin. I tried everything for over
2 weeks until my friend who bred them told me to try Tetra flakes, as he fed
this daily. It worked! These fish eat everything now. They look more like
puffers than Killies. I also raised the temperature to about 80 degrees and
added 1 teaspoon salt per gallon.

Have you tried raising the temp or adding salt. If I can't get a fish to
eat(other than Nothos) I usually toss in Daphnia. Just about everything
eats live Daphnia. I raise it just for this purpose.

I might like to make a comment to everyone who breeds and sells killifish.
We rarely omit the collection code but we almost always forget to mention
what the fish were eating when we sell them.

Its not all the sellers fault. When we buy fish we also often forget to ask
what the fish were eating or how much salt was in the water. We also forget
to test the water in which the fish arrive. I have a trio of FOR which would
only take frozen bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp when I got them. They
even ignored live white worms! I bet I can guess what they were being fed.
They too have now adapted to a wider variety of foods.

Good Luck

Will this method work with Jodanella floridae?

I will try the zucchini. I have been feeding my J. floridae Algae waffers
from Hikari and they really like it. The waffers is a lot less messier than
the real algae, too. I will try this on the pupfish and will report the
result.

BTW, my male AUS still alive and not eating. He have been under Maracyn two
treatment for the fifth day now. :^(

Thanks,
