Fp. gardneri nigerianus Akamkpa Dark Morph

   Hi Jay!

I finally got around to looking at your photos
of your "dark" morph of gar. Akampha. This
dark morph has the same coloration and
intensity of an F1 strain of Akampa ( spelling
at the time) that I got from Germany in the
middle 1980's. In fact, it looks more like the
Akampa that I was familiar with, than its tank-
mates in the picture.( does this make the pale
colored Akampas "light morph" if I keep them
again since I was used to the dark kind being
    the normal variety?

It might interest you to know that the F1 that
I had produced absolutely beautiful lyretails for
a period. I have a slide of one of the lyretails
in my slide collection. I entered the lyretail in
one of the AKA conventions and it brought a
considerable amount of money at the time for
     a gardneri!

By the way, I still like gardneri and I currently
have four strains: Lokoja, Misaje, Jos-Plateau
      and Mamfense-Ossing.

            Regards,

                     Monty Lehmann
