Guy,
This sounds interesting, and I am always on the lookout for
some way to keep my microworm cultures from crashing. Can you
give a better idea what "Swell" is or where you find it?

         At an auction I picked up a Grindal worm culture, and followed
the
guidelines given (I think) in the AKA beginners guide. I use "Swell", a
coir based product as the substrate, keeping it very damp, sprinkling on
instant cereal as food every day. I got excellent results, the cover
plate I put in was teeming with baby Grindal. Unfortunately only a
handful of worms were growing to adulthood, but there were still
millions of babies.
