I use the heat packs when I go hunting but they only last for a few hrs.  
Their is one heat pack that will last longer but it is made of metal and you 
light it and it produces heat for a day or two.  You would have to insulate 
it in a little fire proof bag.  It would not set anything on fire but it does 
get hot and would keep a box of fish warm for several days.
