They were young (<9cm) clowns and the owner watched with
horror at feeding time how the clowns would dash out of hiding and
grab a cardinal from the belly and kill it.
Whether this is a result of a feeding frenzy or pure predation on a
distracted, vulnerable specie I don't know. But it did happen.
