Re: Anyone have a George Maier Photo?

Bill and Bob,
Please accept my apology, I did misread Bills email post. Sometimes when
we open our big mouth we stick our foot in it. My face isn't red it's
crimson.
I also want to add that I always looked forward to reading George's
Problem Page in the old Killienotes-JAKA. I met George and engaged in a
conversation with him at the 1978 convention at North Bergen, NJ. He also
presented a workshop on live foods at that convention if my memory is
correct. He was well deserving of the title of Mr. Killifish. By the way
have you read of his "George Maier BBS" title which he submitted for
publication? I believe to TFH and it was published.

Allen, I think you misread Bills email post. He was looking for a picture
of George, the founder of the Chicago Killie Association. Not the founder of
the AKA. ..bob

  Bill,
Please don't try to out do Al Gore. No way is George our founder,
although he does appear to be the third one approached by Al Klee and Bob
Criger to form the seven man Charter Committee as related by Klee in his
  History Of The AKA.

ChiKA is looking for a good quality photo of George Maier, our founder,
suitable for reproduction. We need a full "head" shot that we can
reproduce.

   Thanks.

For the record, George Maier was the founder of the Chicago Killifish
Association (ChiKA), which preceeded the AKA by several years. There were
also a few other gentlemen involved, including our own Gerhard Kalus, ChiKA's
Treasurer emeritus!

My message was not intended to be slight against the AKA founders you
mentioned.
