RE: Fibrous peat (was Re: Peat x Activated charcoal)
I happened to stumble across a product in the gardening section of our local
"Home Depot" type store. It is bagged in 7L quantities and is labeled as
"Sphagnum Moss, a pure, long fibered natural moss". It is used to line
baskets among other gardening uses. I am using it for killie tanks for them
to dive in and they seem to enjoy it. It does not produce a mess, and after
boiling, does not seem to darken the water too much.
It is distributed by Mosser Lee Company of Millstone, WI 54643

Cost?
There are some pretty good native substitutes being tested, but the early
results are someone else's work, and I don't feel free to divulge them
without his permission.
