Please don't apologize for not knowing the answer to
something like your question. Chances are there are others lurking on this list
who have wondered about that too. The string I encountered this afternoon while
catching up on what transpired this last week offers a lot of food for
thought.
If one wants to look for ignorance, real ignorance may be
attributed to those like me who wouldn't have even asked the question. Because
of you, even those of us who are really, really "chemistry challenged" can grow.
Thanks for the question and the insights. That's what make the killie hobby all
the more interesting.
They just don't have stuff like this in the history
department.

IŽd like to apologize to all of you for my
ignorance, but I was not able to find out an answer to this question in my
books. If I setup a filtration system bringing together peat moss and
activated charcoal, will this last one cancel out the benefits of the first,
by counteracting the humic acids released by
peat?
