I don't think I'm experienced enough to join your proposed group, Allen, but 
I am interested in learning more about the elegans group itself.  Where 
would I find more info on them?  I was thinking of trying my hand at them 
and your thread provided a great opportunity to ask a question I haven't 
gotten around to asking.
