Wow, that sounds like alot of salt.  Or Wow, we're not using enough. We use
a tall spaghetti container, probably holds a quart and use one level TBS of
salt (sometimes diamond crystal).  Then use 1/4 tsp eggs, room temp, 70, and
have hatch in less than 24 hrs, siphon bbs, add more eggs, pour water back,
and do again.  usually do 2 batches then start over.  I must be using 1/2 or
less of salt than you, if i remember i will measure our container when i get
to school tomorrow.
