They're really helpful with fish that might not be so strong, though, like
fish from the fish store. Of course, of the four serious diseases I've had
to deal with, only three were caught in a six week quarantine. I don't
quarantine fish I get from breeders, though, since I doubt anyone would
send fish unless they were sure they had no diseases. If you're selling
killies you do it for love, and lovers wouldn't send out fish that are a
health risk, I figure.
That having been said, great health and conditions can't stave off all
infectious diseases. Once in a while a healthy fish will also develop an
illness.
