how many people out there keep unfiltered tanks?


I have never filtered my killie breeding tanks. I use a handful of silver
sand on the base, a mop & a good supply of Ceratopteris, Salvinia or other
bits of plants. These suck up the nitrate & flourish under natural daylight.
The surface area on a spawning mop is extensive & a natural home to
nitrifying bacteria.
