Hi everyone;
I just picked up some long fiber sphagnum moss ( packaged in Wisconsin )
to spawn a trio of newly acquired Northos.
Now my question : I soaked the sphagnum for about 1/2 hour after picking
any and all foreign matter out. then I boiled the whole mess for 16
min., I then
rinsed it through a strainer again, placed it back in the micro for
another 16 min., rinsed again then placed it in a bucket for the next
two days where I will rinse it daily until Thursday when I will put it
in a
weighted container in the tank with the fish. Have I taken sufficient
precautions
to prevent a problem with my Northos ? I sure would hate to lose
them as the male is really beautiful and the females seem to be fat with
eggs. OBTW they
are N. guntheri "Zanzibar 97/4 and the
first annuals I am attempting to breed
........ so I am being ultra cautious, I
discarded the idea of using jiffy peat as it is somewhat messy. Please
let me know
if my precautions are enough.
Leo
