a note about the hanna TDS meters

I just received some fish today in 940ppm water. I was adding salt to the
receiving tank to take them, and I couldn't get it to go above 390ppm no
matter how much I added. I was stumped.

The problem of course was that it had overranged. It took a 10:1 dilution
with 120ppm water to get it down to 890ppm. I thought folks should be
aware that the 380 seems to be the overrange number on these puppies.
