The first gravel scratch will tell you. No problem!  :-)

Actually, you can see the little square stress patterns if you put the glass
between crossed polarizers. The polarized light near the horizon, outdoors,
makes the grid-like patterns obvious in auto glass if you are wearing
Polaroid sun glasses.
