Re: Cork for Mops

I use wine corks because of the way I make the mops. I lay the cork
lengthwise across the edge of a stiff rectangle of plastic (a cd case works
well) and then smear aquarium sealer across the sides of the cork. Then wind
yarn layer by layer around the cork and case a couple of times. When the
sealer is dry and the loops are cut you have a horizontal float with a
straight skirt down each side. The reason I like this is because when I
check for eggs I just flip the two skirts apart and most of the eggs are
easily seen right between the two halves of the skirt. The extra time I
spend making the mops seems to be more than made up for in the time saved
looking for eggs. This tip may also be worth exactly what you paid for it,
but it's what I like to do.
