Re: Fp gardneri Akampa

Hi Jay,
I think that you may be a victim of one of those spelling
mistakes that creeps up on us, as I think that the place name is
"Akamkpa". Fp. nigerianus isa recognised species. However I also was
wondering how accurate this is. I was under the impression that
nigerianus and gardneri were very similar fish. Given that they are both
being collected from Akampka the potential for cross breeding must be
very high. Can anyone tell me if my impression is wrong, and they are
markedly
different fish. If you are getting two colour forms there may have been
some cross breeding. Having said that, some of my Fp. scheeli males show
up darker tan others. You could lso try separating light and dark to
check its not a mood thang.
        Atb,
                Guy.
