concerns over USPS-FedEx potential partnership

If anyone has been keeping up with this, here's what I see as concerning:

If FedEx does indeed begin moving Express Mail and Priority shipments for
the USPS, it may endanger our most common method of shipping stock. For
those of you who do not know, FedEx policy prohibits the shipment of
tropical fish within their system, with the exception for International
Express Airport-to-Airport shipments (wish I had the policy/service bulletin
handy). As an 8 year veteran of the FedEx Memphis Sort facility, I can say
that there are a few shipments that "fall through the cracks" against
policy. I can also attest that most employees are instructed to REFUSE
live-fish shipments. How a large Koi breeder in Arkansas is allowed to ship
his products is unknown to me, other than the fact he ships in great
quantity. WHile the USPS has never hassled me about live fish shipments,
how they will act in the future is always in question, especially with talks
of an "shipping alignment".

Just something to chew on.
